About Jewish Federation Bay Area

Jewish Federation Bay Area (JFBA) is the central philanthropic and community-building organization for the 225,000+ Jews of the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1910 as the Federation of Jewish Charities of San Francisco, JFBA has served the Bay Area Jewish community for over 115 years — making it one of the oldest and most enduring Jewish institutions in the American West.

JFBA raises and distributes tens of millions of dollars annually to support a wide network of local agencies, Israeli institutions, and global Jewish causes. The Federation's grantmaking touches nearly every corner of Bay Area Jewish life — from early childhood education and summer camps to senior services, food security, mental health support, and anti-Semitism response. JFBA also serves as the community's convener and strategic planner, bringing together Jewish organizations across San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, Sonoma, the East Bay, and Silicon Valley.

Careers at Jewish Federation Bay Area span fundraising and philanthropic advising, community engagement, marketing, finance, operations, technology, and program management. Employees work alongside passionate colleagues and community leaders to strengthen Jewish identity, support Israel, and care for Jews in need — both locally and around the world.
